Four colorways of Dwight Howard’s new adidas Beast Commander have already hit Eastbay in recent weeks, and a fifth is on the way later this month. This colorway of the Beast is royal blue-based, with a synthetic, mesh and Sprintskin upper. White and silver accent the look, prominently featured on the Three Stripes and heel cup. Dwight Howard personalization is seen with a 12 on the medial side of the collar, “Beast” emblazoned on the tongue and his signature “Hey Wooooorld” greeting on the heel. Like last season’s Supernatural line, the Beast features a PureMotion tooled underfoot. This shoe will officially drop a day after Christmas, but you can reserve your pair here today.

Pre-Order: adidas TS Beast – “Superman”

In the 2007 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, Dwight Howard made a disappointing early exit after judges failed to take notice of the creativity put into his famed “Sticker Dunk.” Howard returned to the Dunk Contest the following year, and made sure history didn’t repeat itself. With a little help from friend and teammate Jameer Nelson, Dwight took the court fitted with a Superman emblem t-shirt and cape, and soared through the air for what is now known as the “Superman Dunk.”

Though nitpickers will be quick to tell you that he didn’t actually dunk the ball, that single moment made Dwight the league’s next marketable star, and the “Superman” nickname has stuck with him ever since. So much that Warner Bros. and DC Comics signed an apparel partnership deal with adidas this summer centered around the Orlando Magic center. While clothing and accessories are expected in the near future, the first release from this collaborative effort is the “Superman” version of Dwight’s new adidas Beast sneaker.

Seen in photos below, the “Superman” Beast steers away from the typical royal blue-based Man of Steel tribute shoe, opting for a themed look inspired by Superman’s Fortress of Solitude headquarters. The shoe sports a white and vision blue upper, with crystal graphics seen on the mesh and Sprintskin side panels. Superman’s logo appears on the tongue, as well as the underfoot via translucent outsole. The heel tab inlay reads “Fortress of Solitude,” once again acknowledging the home base of Superman and the overall theme of the shoe.

The “Superman” Beast is available here at Eastbay today in very limited quantities. Be sure to pick up your pair now.

Pre-Order: adidas TS Beast – Two Colorways

In recent weeks, we’ve told you all about Dwight Howard’s new signature shoe, the adidas TS Beast. Now you have a chance to own a pair. Available to pre-order on Eastbay now are two colorways of the Beast. First up is the Black/Running White/Bright Blue pair we’ve already seen Dwight wearing in preseason games. The second available colorway is the unique aluminum based “Shades of Grey” style, which makes use of black and lime colored accents.

The Beast is said to have been inspired by Dwight’s expanding game, fame and style. The upper is constructed of synthetic and textile materials to reduce weight, improve breathability and increase stability. Sprintskin on the lateral and medial panels release heat and enable proper motion. The heel counter, designed to salute Dwight’s “out of this world” potential, features an outer space texture. An additional personalized touch is seen on the heel inlay, which features Dwight’s signature “Heyyyy Wooooooorld” Twitter greeting.

Other features include a pop forward/pop back lacing system, 2D textile with reticulated foam lining, 3D molded PU insole, injection-molded EVA midsole, Torsion System® and Pure Motion techology. Weighing in at approximately 15 ounces, the Beast will be available in a size run of 6.5-15, retailing for $100.
