Nike took a classic style and reinvented last year with the release of the Trainer 1. There have been a number of unforgettable colorways from Nike Training’s history that have been applied to the Trainer 1 but the latest is more along the lines of a new classic.

The bright yellow color that leans ever-so-slightly to the green side of the color spectrum has become one of the most popular colors from Nike. For this colorway of the Trainer 1 Volt is teamed up with a primarily black training shoe that features a nice mix of materials including synthetic materials and accent panels in a semi-patent finish. It’s not all about the colors though, the Trainer 1 comes with Nike DiamondFLX outsole system, which provides flexibility and support through multi-directional movements, and a combination of lightweight Sculpted Phylite and Max Air cushioning in the heel area. To you, that means this one performs as well as it looks.

Nike Training launched the Trainer 1 in 2009 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Training category. The Training category, seemingly built on the shoulders of Bo Jackson, has come along way in twenty years. Nike hasn’t forgotten though, and the Trainer 1 is a brilliant example of blending heritage and new technology.

Using style cues from the original Nike Air Trainer, the Trainer 1 design incorporates key new technologies. One of which is the Nike DiamondFLX outsole system, which provides flexibility and support through multi-directional movements, a necessity for every rigorous training regimen. Cushioning comes from the combination of lightweight Sculpted Phylite, and Nike’s Max Air technology that is placed in the heel area.

This latest colorway combines a solid mix of materials in a blue, white and grey color combination that would work with many college and high school team colors.
