words // Brandon Richard

Ready to embark on her second WNBA season, Skylar Diggins recently teamed up with Eastbay to show us how she prepares to win. With Skylar, we sat down for an exclusive interview, in which she spoke about her professional and personal life, fashion and her status as a role model to young women. All of this in addition to shooting for the cover of this month’s Eastbay catalog.

Born in South Bend, Indiana, Skylar was named Miss Indiana Basketball and a McDonald’s All-American in 2009 before taking her talents to the University of Notre Dame. As a member of the Irish, Diggins went to three Final Fours, was a two-time Big East Player of the Year, three-time AP All-American and left as the school’s all-time leading scorer. She also graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Management-Entrepreneurship. Last year, she entered the WNBA Draft as one of the much hyped ‘Three to See’ and was selected third overall by the Tulsa Shock.

With her rookie campaign now out of the way, Diggins is ready to return to the BOK Center hardwood to help the Shock improve on last season’s mark. She’s preparing to win, training harder than ever in hopes of getting her team to its first postseason since relocating from Detroit in 2010.
