While last week’s top three teams Oregon, Auburn and TCU all had relatively close calls this week, fourth ranked Boise State made a statement Friday night by crushing their in state rivals the Idaho Vandals 52-14. The Broncos were led by quarterback Kellen Moore’s 3 touchdown passes and running back Doug Martin’s two touchdowns. The victory moves them back into the third spot in the rankings.
San Diego State’s near comeback against the TCU Horned Frogs shifted enough votes to the Broncos of Boise State to drop the Horned Frogs to fourth this week.

The TCU Horned Frogs proved to everyone they deserve to be near the top of everyone’s list with one of the most impressive offensive outbursts of the season. Quarterback Andy Dalton threw for 355 yards and 3 touchdowns on 21 for 26 passing to lead TCU past a tough Utah team in Utah. The Horned Frogs used their 47-7 victory to move past Boise State and into the third spot in the latest AP Polls. Utah on the other hand, tumbled all the way to 15th after the crushing loss.
LSU also made a jump from 12th to 5th after a victory at home against Alabama who fell out of the top ten, landing at the 11th spot.

Oregon and Auburn continue to roll behind Heisman trophy candidates LaMichael James and Cameron Newton, while Boise State does the same. Oregon took on Pac-10 rival USC in Los Angeles in what many would say is their toughest of remaining opponents this season. The Ducks outlasted the Trojans continuing to score relentlessly like they have all year behind 236 rushing yards from LaMichael James, beating USC 53-32. Boise State and Auburn cruised to victories to remain 2nd and 3rd in the rankings.
Two previously unbeaten teams took surprising losses this week. Michigan State was crushed by Iowa 37-6 and Missouri lost 31-17 to Nebraska. Consequently both Michigan State and Missouri fell from the top ten in this week’s rankings. The win moved Nebraska back into the top ten for the first time since their loss to Texas earlier in the year.

This week the Ducks of Oregon took to the field earlier than most of the schools around the country for a Thursday night blowout of the UCLA Bruins. The Ducks held on to the top spot with a 60-13 victory that saw Heisman hopeful LaMichael James 123 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Across the country in one of the most anticipated match-ups of the week another Heisman candidate added to his impressive resume. Cameron Newton of the Auburn led the Tigers past SEC rival LSU. Newton finished with 86 yards passing and 217 rushing yards as Auburn won 24-17 to move into the third spot in this week’s poll.

This week, there were some big changes in the Top 25 NCAA College Football Rankings. Teams like Florida and Texas suffered disappointing losses against other ranked teams, but the most impressive game of the week came from the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks rallied from a 21-3 deficit in the first quarter against a tough Stanford team. Led by running back LaMichael James’ 257 rushing yards and three touchdowns, Oregon went on to win 52-31 and jumped to number three in this week’s rankings. Michigan State also pulled off an impressive upset over Wisconsin, which has them up to the 17th spot.
