Twenty-three years ago, Michael Jordan created one of the truly iconic NBA Playoff moments when he hit “The Shot” against the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1989. Underdogs in the series, the Chicago Bulls pushed Cleveland to a fifth and decisive game at Richfield Coliseum, where MJ sealed the deal with a line drive jumper over Craig Ehlo above the free throw line as time expired. This weekend, the Jordan Brand will celebrate the 23rd Anniversary of Michael’s game-winner by releasing a Cavs-inspired colorway of the Air Jordan 4.
With an all-new colorway of the classic Jordan shoes set to drop, Sole Shots marks this weekend’s release by taking a look back at some of the other Jordan 4 colorways that have released. Which pair is your favorite? Let us know in the comment section below!

This past weekend, the NBA held the 61st Annual All-Star Game, played at the Amway Center in sunny Orlando, Florida. The game, which is being called one of the best to date, featured several notable highlights that made it one for the ages. Kobe Bryant scored 27 points to pass Michael Jordan on the all-time NBA All-Star Game scoring list. Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat became only the third player to record a triple-double in the game, notching 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. LeBron James led a feverish second-half comeback for the Eastern Conference, recording 36 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists on the night. However, it was Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant who walked away with MVP honors, leading the Western Conference to a slim 152-149 victory with 36 points and 7 rebounds of his own.
While we’re obviously fans of the on-court performances, All-Star Weekend is also significant in the sneaker community because of the special basketball shoes worn for the occasion. Throughout the years, players like Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Kobe Bryant have switched into alternate colorways of their signature shoes for the star-studded affair. In celebration of Sunday’s game, Sole Shots presents a collection of photos featuring All-Star footwear from the last 24 years. Read on for a look at this week’s submissions and let us know what your all-time favorite All-Star shoe is.
