Nike Basketball continues to bring the heat with the Zoom Kobe VII also making headlines this weekend in yet another clean traditional color scheme.

Similar to other Lakers inspired Nike Basketball shoes in the past, this latest release of the Zoom Kobe VII displays a look that’s sure to be seen on the feet of Bryant during Lakers’ home games this season. We see a predominantly white base, while concord handles the tongue, liner and Swoosh. Del sole takes care of the tongue Shozoku logo, external heel counter and parts of the midsole down below.

The latest release from the Nike Zoom Kobe VII “Predator Pack” is inspired by the Gray Wolf, the largest extant member of the dog family of mammals. Gray Wolves are described as apex predators, meaning that they are predators with no true predators of their own. They’re deliberately aggressive and extremely territorial, defending their territories in packs using scents and direct attacks. Linking Kobe’s on-court prowess to these assertive animals is the “Wolf” Kobe VII, which we have a closer look at for you today.

Naturally, Wolf Grey is used on the shoe’s polyurethane shell upper, which provides durability and performance fit. Total Orange accents the Shozoku, Swoosh logos and heel Kobe signature, while grey textile lines the interior. A howling wolf logo on the heel designates the shoe’s place in the pack. Black works the external heel counter and midsole, leaving a predominantly white rubber outsole to finish off the look below.

Nike Kobe VII – “Duke”

When asked what school he would have attended had he not chosen to forego college eligibility, Kobe Bryant says that playing under Mike Krzyzewski at the University of Duke would have been the choice. As an indirect salute to his Team USA coach and his would-be alma mater, Kobe’s signature Nike basketball shoes have been treated to a designated “Duke” colorway in recent years, the latest version now available for you to take home.

The “Duke” Nike Kobe VII features no school logos, but pays homage to the Durham-based University through the use of color. A mixture of Treasure Blue and black is used on the shoe’s synthetic upper, with contrasting white hits working the Swoosh logos, Shozoku on the tongue and heel counter. White and black handle the midsole, while a black and blue rubber outsole finish off the look below.

It’s been a roller coaster start to the season for Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who is attempting to play through torn ligaments in his right wrist. Numbers wise, it looks like rumors of Kobe’s demise were greatly exaggerated. He’s averaging about 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists per night in eight games. However, the Lakers are just 4-4 at a time where they’re adjusting to a new coaching philosophy and several new teammates. Can the Lakers still emerge as one of the NBA’s elite teams? Kobe is willing to risk his shooting hand to see it through.

This season, the Lakers have picked up all four of their wins home at Staples Center. For those contests, Kobe has been lacing up this new “Concord” colorway of the Nike Kobe VII System Supreme. A staple colorway for his signature Nike basketball shoes, the “Concord” Kobe VII features a white synthetic upper with black working the Swoosh logos, laces and collar. Purple accenting appears on the Attack Fast and Attack Strong inserts, heel counter and midsole. A predominantly black rubber outsole finishes off the look below.

via Press Release

Today, Nike and Kobe Bryant have officially launched the Nike Kobe VII System Supreme, customizable Nike basketball shoes that allows players to switch ankle support and midfoot cushioning. The Nike Kobe VII System Supreme includes two interchangeable insert options that give players the opportunity to match their style of play.

For players with a speed-based game, there’s the Attack Fast insert. Attack Fast features a Phylon midsole with Zoom units in the forefoot and heel for lightweight responsiveness. It also has a low-cut, power-stretch cuff that hugs the foot for added support. The sock-like fit eliminates the need for a traditional tongue and innersleeve, which also reduces weight.

Those who play a more physical game will prefer the Attack Strong insert, which offers a full-length Cushlon midsole and an ankle cuff for a comfortable ride with great support. Sensory cuffs are made of an engineered power-stretch material that is padded and perforated for comfort and ventilation.

The Nike Kobe VII System Supreme offers a similar performance fit and feel as the Kobe V and Kobe VI, but offers a different look and includes additional performance customization. In addition to the different inserts, next-generation Flywire technology was used to provide lock-down support, a 3D heel clip also enhances support and a glass reinforced composite shank in the midsole gives responsive midfoot support.

Inspired by Kobe’s on-court instincts, a predator pattern was used throughout the shoe’s upper. The pattern comes to life in the cast polyurethane outer shell as a “skin” simulating the look of three predator patterns mixed together – the Leopard, Great white Shark and Black Mamba. The raised skin pattern lives on each shoe. Separately graphic patterns also live under the “skin” on some colorways. These color graphics are available for five different predators – the Leopard, Great White Shark, Poison Dart Frog and Grey Wolf.

In addition to the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Supreme System, the Kobe VII is also sold in the Attack Fast version featuring the low-cut cuff and Nike Zoom air, without the Attack Strong insert.

Nike has also partnered with the videogame NBA2K12 to integrate the Nike Kobe VII System starting December 22nd. Additional colorways will launch in the game at key moments throughout the year.

Read on for a detailed look at the Kobe VII System Supreme, Attack Fast, Attack Strong and Tech Sheets for both. You can pick up the latest Kobe shoes at Eastbay today.
