Nike Running has been reworking and redeveloping their Free technology for a number of years now. The simple and effective styling, and feather-like weight of the Free line, not only has made them popular for minimalist runner enthusiasts, but casually worn they seem to be a can’t miss.

The latest reincarnation is the Nike Free Run+ 2 and it comes in at an impressively light, 9.4 ounces. With a breathable mesh upper it couldn’t be more appropriate for summer runs. The Free Run+ 2 uses a multi-layer approach to the upper that acts almost like a second skin around the comforts of the inner sleeve. It uses a midsole that has been sculpted to provide a flexibility and feel that is similar to being barefoot, only with the comfort of Phylite supportive cushioning. Finishing off the details of the Nike Free Run+ 2 are a durable BRS 1000 carbon rubber heel, and some peace of mind, knowing that the Free Run+ 2 uses environmentally friendly rubber.
