Four days prior to Cal Ripken Jr. announcing that he’d hang his Baltimore Orioles uniform for good at the end of the 2001 season, a young kid by the name of Brian Roberts made his major league debut. Since then, B-Rob has become a Baltimore fan favorite and one of the faces of a franchise that hasn’t had much else to smile about since he made an instant impact in his rookie year. The two-time All-Star, known for being a double hitting and base stealing machine, missed the bulk of last season with a nagging back injury. Looking to reverse the bad fortune of the Orioles and himself, Roberts is back on the field this season and doing his daily work in player exclusive colorways of the Nike Air Max Diamond Elite MTL.

The Air Max Diamond Elite is a lightweight Nike baseball cleat that enables Brian to max out on his speed when stealing bases. Incorporated technology includes Power Channel Flex Grooves for enhances traction and Max Air cushioning in the heel. The Baltimore-inspired cleat features a perforated white patent leather base with black and orange accenting throughout. Roberts’ BR1 is stitched on the front side of the tongue pull-tab and embroidered on the heel as well. Lastly, the heel tab notes Bible passage 1:9, which states, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Take a detailed look at Brian’s Air Max Diamond Elite MTL below.

It’s hard to take a guy seriously when his walk up music includes tunes from Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, but when that guy is Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, you’ll learn to respect him one way or the other. Arguably the game’s best shortstop, Troy is coming off a season in which he led all shortstops in home runs, RBIs, batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and on-base plus slugging percentage. He nabbed his first Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Awards in 2010 and is hoping to erase this season’s early struggles to land those same awards again this year.

One of the many Nike Player Exclusives Tulo has worn throughout the season, here’s a closer look at his custom Shox Fuse 2. The cleat features a black and metallic silver synthetic upper with Rockies purple detailing on the forefoot, Swoosh logos, contrast stitching and inner liner. For personalization, ’2Low’ is embroidered in black and purple on the tongue, while Troy’s number ’2′ is stitched in white on the heel. The bottom is completed with purple Shox columns for responsive cushioning and a white v9 outsole.
