For Black Friday, the Nike Air Penny 5 arrives in an all-new camouflage accented colorway.
The ‘Camo’ Penny 5 features a spruce and black Hyperfuse-constructed upper with camouflage trim and volt logos on the side panels, tongue and heel. Below sits a camo printed midsole, Max Air cushioning and black rubber outsole. Additional military-inspired elements include an eagle graphic on the tongue, five stars along the medial side and a bolt on the pull-tab.

The latest colorway of the Nike Air Penny 5 is a salute to Penny Hardaway’s famous pint-sized companion from his old Nike ads — Lil’ Penny.
Why this eye-catching Atomic Red colorway? Think back to 1997, when Nike was advertising for the Air Penny 3. The campaign included a commercial called ‘Frozen Moments,’ a spin-off of Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 12 ad. In the clip, Lil’ Penny is a bystander as Hardaway makes one of his signature moves to the hoop. As the events unfold (including the arrival of a beautiful young model by the name of Tyra Banks), Lil’ Penny pops a big wad of bubblegum and there you have your inspiration for the color.
Other special design elements include ‘1/2’ on the tongues, ‘Livin’ Large’ and ‘Knee High’ pull-tabs, Lil’ Penny’s silhouette on the heel and custom insoles. The shoe is finished off with a white foam wing, splattered midsole, a Max Air bag and red translucent outsole.
