Nike running shoes have come a long way since the waffle-soled days of the 1970’s. Today’s designs, like the Nike Air Max 24/7 are equipped with full 360 degree Max Air cushioning that provides a comfort that is unparalleled. However, with all the timeless designs in Nike’s heritage, many have become sought-after classics in retro form as casual shoes.
The Nike Air Max 24/7 pays tribute to a few of these unforgettable designs. Design cues from the Air Max 95, Air Max 97, and the 360 sole tie together Nike Air Max running shoes from different eras to make an up-to-date runner that is both performance oriented and stylish. The latest colorway uses 3M material and Kiwi Green accents to set itself apart from the rest of the pack and the White, Black and Metallic Silver base colors give it a familiar feel.

Nike continues to offer the world a number of silhouette choices in the popular Chlorine Blue colorway. so far we’ve seen the color applied to the Air Max 90, LunarEclipse+, Air Max Jr, and more, but today it arrives in one of the most popular new silhouettes to come from the creative minds at Nike, the Nike Air Max 24/7.
By combining a full 360 Max Air sole with the hybrid upper design, which shares design cues from the Air Max 95 and Air Max 97, Nike has been able to create a familiar, yet more functional, running inspired sneaker. The 360 Air sole provides a comfort that few sneakers can compare with, while the Chlorine Blue accents on the lacestays and Swoosh are a tasteful way to tie accents to the Metallic Silver base color. A BRS 1000 rubber, waffle-patterned outsole provides traction and durability to finish off the design.

During the cold weather months, black on black shoes see an instant increase in popularity. Reasons for this include their ability to help maintain warmth and resistance of appearance flaws due to natural wear and tear. This fall, one of the more popular hybrid runners on the market is turning up in the famed “Blackout” colorway.
Nike’s Air Max 24/7 runner is a runner that combines the best elements of the Air Max 95, 97 and 360. Seen here is a pair that sports the aforementioned triple black look. Black leather and mesh on the upper get help from anthracite trim throughout. Below, a black 360-Air unit sits above a rubber outsole of the same color to cap off the “Blackout” theme. You can pre-order your pair here at Eastbay today.

Nike has been taking style cues from multiple silhouettes and creating hybrid styles for years. One of the most successful in recent years is the Nike Air Max 24/7 which combines the Air Max 97, the full Air Max sole found on the most recent Air Max 2010, and the unmistakable layered side panels of the Air Max 95. While the recent Glass Blue colorway definitely made some wish lists, next Spring the Nike Air Max 24/7 will take on new life with some iconic colors that will be equally sought after.
This week’s Eastbay Photo of the Week gives us a close up look at details of the Air Max logo on the tongue and the 3M detailing from this Spring 2011 colorway.
