This Saturday, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Michigan Wolverines will meet for the 40th time under the bright lights at Notre Dame Stadium. For the occasion, adidas unveils two new Team Speed Crew Sock options representing each team.

Michigan receives a Collegiate Navy sock, accented by white and yellow. Navy also serves as the base color of Notre Dame’s sock, which is complemented by white and gold.

Team Speed Crew Socks feature a ribbed leg and compression throughout to provide a secure fit and added stability. ForMotion anatomically shaped Left/Right footbeds enhance the foot’s natural movement. ClimaLite moisture wicking fabric keeps your foot cool and dry. Cushioning has been added to high impact areas of the foot and ankle to provide maximum impact absorption. If all that wasn’t great enough, the socks meet NCAA and NFHS standards.

Last week, I named Alabama stud and reigning Heisman RB Mark Ingram my College Player of the Week. This Week, Michigan QB Denard Robinson and Oregon RB LaMichael James are the first ever College Football Co-Players of the Week.

Robinson led the 19th-ranked Michigan Wolverines to a 42-35 win over the Indiana Hoosiers in which he was 10-for-16 passing, including completions for 17, 42 and 74 yards. His three TD passes came on strikes from 32, 3 and 70 yards respectively. He finished with 277 yards in the air. He was also dangerous on the ground, rushing 19 times for 217 yards. He ran for a 72-yard TD on Michigan’s first offensive possession and scored on a 4-yard run with 17 seconds left in the game. After an impressive win over Indiana, Michigan jumps one spot to #18 this week in the NCAA College Football rankings. I also named Robinson my Week 2 College Football Player of the Week.

Running Back LaMichael James and the 4th-ranked Oregon Ducks throttled 9th-ranked Stanford on Saturday by a score of 52-31. James ran the ball 31 times for 257 yards and three touchdowns. He scored on a 5-yard run in the second quarter, a 3-yard run in the third quarter and broke a 76-yarder with one minute left in the game. The Ducks jumped ahead of Boise State in the rankings, moving up to #3 in the country.

Last week, I named Boise State QB Kellen Moore my College Football Player of the Week after a big win over Virginia Tech. This week, Michigan Sophomore QB Denard Robinson gets the nod.

Robinson and the Wolverines traveled to Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday to take on the Fighting Irish in one of the highly anticipated games of Week 2. Trailing 21-7 lead at halftime, Notre Dame scored 17 straight points to take the lead 24-21 at the 3:41 mark in the fourth quarter. That’s when Robinson led the Wolverines down the field and capped off a 12-play, 72-yard drive with a two-yard rushing TD.

Robinson ended up with 244 yards, connecting on 24 of his 40 attempts, but even more impressive he ran 28 times for 258 and two TDs. He ran for an 87-yard TD in the second quarter, which helped him average 9.2 yards per carry for the game. His other rushing TD was the aforementioned game-winning two-yard scamper while his passing touchdown was a 31-yard strike to Roy Roundtree in the first quarter.
