On a quest for his first MVP Award of his career, Matt Kemp is the subject of Eastbay’s all new Jersey of the Week feature. Having one of the most complete weeks of his baseball career, Matt Kemp hit .423 (11-for-26) with a Major League best nine runs scored while blasting three home runs and four doubles. Kemp also finished the week with a total of seven RBI’s for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Not only is Matt Kemp making a run for his first MVP Award, he’s also on a quest for the Major League Baseball Triple-Crown. Kemp currently holds a .324 batting avg (5th in NL) and leads the NL with both 34 HR and 123 Runs Batted In.

Just a couple of weeks from now, some the league’s best players or at least the popular ones, will head to Southern California for the 2010 MLB All Star Game. The games leading into the break can sometimes set the tone for the second half of the season, and also cause some teams to take action and make moves to better themselves. This week is the first to follow inter-league, which means many teams are stacked up against division rivals, which makes that much more important.
Some of the top rivalries in the league, whether a newly acquired hatred or long-standing one, took the field this week including the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers battling for the top spot in the American League Central, and the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants continuing their feud for the league’s most competitive division, the National League West.

New Era has released some new t-shirts, these ones are actually inspired by, and feature the extensive colorways of the company’s 59FIFTY fitted hats.
Two versions are available, the Los Angeles Dodgers version and the New York Yankees version. Each feature multiple colorways of the team’s fitted hats in a glossy print. Other details include the team’s logo on the right sleeve and the New Era logo on the left sleeve.
