For the first time in five years, you’ll be able to get your hands on the classic ‘Taxi’ Air Jordan 12.
Originally released in November 1996, the ‘Taxi’ 12 was the launch colorway worn by Michael Jordan to start the Bulls’ championship 96-97 season. With a classic commercial to boot, it became one of the most popular shoes in the entire Air Jordan line.
The shoe features a white tumbled leather upper with sun ray-inspired stitching and black textured leather overlays along the sides. Gold works the upper eyelets, while taxi yellow and red share various details on the sole.
These classic Jordan shoes will be released here this Saturday, December 14 for $170 at 8:00 a.m. EST / 7:00 a.m. CST. Follow @Eastbay on Twitter and @OfficialEastbay on Instagram for all release information and updates.

This is a classic colorway that originally launched on the Air Jordan 12 in 1997. As a colorway that really didn’t fit into the Chicago or Carolina colorways that were typical on Jordan shoes, it became an unforgettable colorway simply because it stood out.
The Obsidian colorway was seen again on the Retro low-top version in 2004 and now today returns again as a part of the Fusion line. The Air Jordan Fusion 12 Obsidian combines the iconic Jordan 12, inspired by the Japanese Flag, and the sole of an Air Force 1. A full-grain leather upper, ankle strap and leather-wrapped midsole are just a few of the features that help this AJF 12 grab attention.
