For the second consecutive year Magic big man Dwight Howard has been named the NBA’s top Defender. Howard led the league with 1,082 rebounds and was the only player this year to have over 200 blocks. He led the league with 228, making him the only player to lead the league in rebounds and blocks in the same season twice – he also did it last season. Since being selected #1 overall straight out of high school in 2004, he has become a force to be reckon with. This year the 6 foot 11 inch 24 year old led the Magic to the league’s second best record and #2 seed in the Eastern Conference. Coming off a 98-89 win over the 7 seed Charlotte Bobcats on Sunday, Dwight and the Magic look to take a 2-0 series lead tonight in Orlando.

Back on May 2nd Dwight took time out of his busy schedule to spend an hour chatting with his fans on eastbay.com. He was animated as usual and really showed his outgoing personality. We made sure to get some shots from the chat.
