The world of functional skate shoes has seen a a new branch of the culture come into fruition in the past couple of years. The skate style that formerly was known for overly padded sneakers, now finds itself with another growing segment. A more upscale feel and raised ankle height has become popular and who better to help fill the new demand than DC Shoes.
The DC Shoes Base has been one of the more popular models to fit the new style that has come to the forefront of sneakers. These two versions of the Base are LX editions, meaning they feature extra attention to the detailing, as well as a slightly better quality than the standard skate shoe. A couple of notable features that distinguish the LX version from the standard include the diamond pattern perforations on the toebox and lower heel, and the mesh detailing on the upper ankle. Don’t let the LX fool you though. These shoes still feature DC’s performance cup sole with their pill pattern outsole, which means they’re still skateable, you’ll just be doing so in a little more quality kicks.
