UNDER ARMOUR CURRY 3 ‘TCC’ – DECEMBER 10 AT 10 AM ET
The newest Curry 3 takes inspiration from the MVP’s college days at Davidson. TCC stands for trust, care, and commitment. The shoe features a red color scheme that’s a nod to Davidson’s school colors. Check out the story behind the rest of the Curry 3 colorways here. Men’s $139.99, Grade School $114.99.
Under Armour debuted the Curry 3 over a month ago and has been releasing one new colorway of the shoe each week. You may know what the first few colorways look like, but you probably don’t know the story or inspiration behind them. So let’s dive in.
Curry 3 ‘Dub Nation Heritage’ – Released on Oct. 27
Fittingly, the first Curry 3 colorway represented Stephen Curry’s Bay Area squad with a team-inspired royal and gold look. The ‘Dub Nation’ colorway pays homage to the team’s history, because the honor of playing for his team and his city is not something the MVP takes for granted.
Curry 3 ‘SC Camo’ – Released on Nov. 5
Stephen Curry always has a plan. He’s unpredictable on the court and impossible to game plan against. His quick-trigger shooting and lightning-fast ballhandling allow him to strike at a moment’s notice. His unexpected style of play is what makes him so dangerous. You can see him, but you can’t guard him. The ‘SC Camo’ colorway, which is black with yellow accents, embodies that mentality.
Curry 3 ‘Grey Matter’ – Released on Nov. 12
It takes more than talent to become a two-time MVP. Curry certainly has the “It” factor, the clutch gene, or whatever you want to call it. In this case, Under Armour calls it ‘Grey Matter.’ It’s a fitting nickname, as the shoe is outfitted in an all-grey color scheme.
Curry 3 ‘Dub Nation Home’ – Released on Nov. 19
While the first ‘Dub Nation’ pays homage to the team’s heritage, the second is inspired by the dedicated fans that make the team so special. Curry feeds off the crowd’s energy and is always amped up when playing in front of the hometown fans. Like the first ‘Dub Nation,’ this one also comes in team colors, but is mostly white with royal and gold accents.
Curry 3 ‘Trifecta Black’ – Released on Nov. 25
An all-black colorway makes plenty of sense, because Curry is unstoppable from behind the 3-point line. The sharpshooter is already one of the most prolific long-range shooters of all time, so a colorway that emphasizes his ridiculous abilities is a fitting choice.
Curry 3 ‘TCC’ – Releases on Dec. 10
TCC stands for trust, care, and commitment. That’s what Curry’s college team lived by, and it’s something Curry has continued to believe in as a pro. It’s not about stats or individual accolades. For Curry, it’s all about the team. The shoe features a red color scheme that’s a nod to his college team’s colors.
Curry 3 ‘Aqua Camo’ – Releases on Dec. 17
The ‘Aqua Camo’ colorway takes inspiration from Curry’s ability to adapt, react, and shape the flow of every game. The back-to-back MVP has proved his ability to adjust to the flow of a game, as well as his ability to completely take over a game. The shoe is accented with an aqua blue color.
It’s no secret that sneakerheads and basketball players are always looking for the latest and greatest kicks to add to their collection. Whether you’re looking to elevate your off-court style or up your game on the court, we’re breaking down what’s hot right now.
Jordan Brand Buyer’s Pick – Jordan True Flight
Inspired by the play of the game’s high-flying premier athletes, the Jordan True Flight shoe combines soft cushioning and signature Jordan style for a comfortable, stylish off-court appearance. The True Flight has a Retro look and is inspired by the iconic Jordan Retro 7 sneaker. It comes in seven men’s colors, eight boys’ colors and three women’s and girls’ colors, so the whole family can rock Jordan True Flights. True Flight sneakers also hook perfectly with classic Levi’s 511 Slim Fit jeans.
Jordan Brand Best Newcomer – Jordan J23
The Jordan J23 provides an athletic look that is made to elevate your off-court style. The casual shoe features a training-inspired strap, adding a sporty street appeal. The J23 mixes elements of casual and training shoes to create a lifestyle shoe with a uniquely stylish aesthetic. The textile and leather upper provides a clean, premium look and feel, while the lacing system and strap provide lightweight, comfortable lockdown. The J23’s athletic street-style combines flawlessly with Kennedy Denim Classic Joggers to complete the off-court look.
Basketball Buyer’s Pick – UA Curry 3
The Curry 3, which drops October 27, has big shoes to fill as it follows up the highly successful Curry 2.5. Fortunately, the Curry 3 features updated technology to enhance the experience for the game’s most dynamic players. Threadborne technology uses intelligently-woven high-tension threads to deliver the ideal mix of directional support and breathability in the upper, while Meta Wing Plates act as stabilizers to assist the foot during the quick cuts that make Stephen Curry so tough to guard. The shoe’s traction, flexibility, breathability, and support make it as dynamic as the player it was made for.
Basketball Best Newcomer – Nike Hyperdunk 2016
The original Hyperdunk exploded onto the scene in 2008 and quickly became one of the hottest performance basketball shoes on the market. Eight years later, the newest version of the Hyperdunk continues to push the pace. The Hyperdunk 2016 is all about responsiveness and explosiveness, making it the perfect shoe for the game’s most athletic players. Over 40 unique colorways add style, but this shoe focuses on extreme performance and extra bounce, so your athleticism can truly shine on the court.
