This Monday Memory Lane features Chicago Bears line backer Brian Urlacher on the August 2002 Eastbay cover. Urlacher and the Bears are coming off of a 16-0 shutout victory over the Dolphins on Thursday night and have won three in a row. They are atop the NFC North division, holding the tie-breaker over the Green Bay Packers with six games remaining in the season. Hard to believe this is Urlacher’s 11th NFL season already.
For this Eastbay Memory Lane we have a look at a Mike Vick cover from August of 2003. It was when the infamous QB played for the Falcons and was in the prime of his career.
Although his career took an interesting turn a few years ago, he’s back in the NFL and had a big game yesterday against the Green Bay Packers. Vick was the Eagles’ third-string QB last year behind Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb, but in a twist of fate, the Eagles shipped McNabb to the Redskins in the offseason, and Kolb got hurt yesterday.
Vick entered the game at halftime and went on to have a pretty solid game. He rushed for a game high 103 yards on 11 carries and connected on 16 of 24 passes, throwing for 175 yards and a touchdown. Scroll down to see the cover and more pages from this 2003 Eastbay Catalog.
Page seven featured the Jordan XII cleat in both colorways and Brian Urlacher when he was a beast!
Page 11 has a bunch of Reebok cleats, including the Iverson Answer IV.
Page 85 was the fan gear page. Pretty funny to look back at some of the NFL’s best players in 2003 . . . Jeff Garcia, Drew Bledsoe, Eric Moulds, Aaron Brooks, Shaun Alexander, Joey Harrington, Curtis Martin, Priest Holmes. Quite the list.
