5. All-Star Weekend – 1997
After months of waiting, the time has finally come. This week marks the official launch of Kobe Bryant’s sixth Nike signature shoe, the Zoom Kobe VI. In addition to the green-based Christmas colorway that Kobe will wear against the Miami Heat, this “Del Sol” pair will release on the 26th as well.
Inspired by Kobe’s “Black Mamba” alter-ego, the shoe features snakeskin-like Polyurethane “islands” throughout the upper. The unique material works together with hidden Flywire supports and a dual-layer memory foam sockliner to give Kobe the lockdown fit that he desires. Other features include the signature Kobe low cut, Phylon injected midsole, Zoom Air and a Mamba-inspired herringbone traction pattern outsole. The weight of the shoe has also been reduced, coming in at just 10.6 ounces.
While the official drop is scheduled for Sunday, you can grab pick up Kobe’s latest from Eastbay today.
