In the historic line of Jordan shoes each has a special place amongst collectors and fans. Whether it be the story in which you got your hands on your pair or attempted to, or whether you’re memories are tied to what Michael Jordan did on the court in a particular colorway, something about them grabs us. When it comes to the Air Jordan 13 for many people it was the hologram on the ankle that wowed us at first glance. Then of course their is the advertising that went along with it, a memorable CEO Jordan commercial that just might have influenced a certain Superman of today’s game.

The White and Red colorway of the Jordan 13 arrived in the midst of the 1997-1998 season, in what was arguably in the midst of the greatest Chicago Bulls team ever. The White and Red hasn’t been seen on the Jordan 13 in quite some time however and the last time we saw it retro was in a low-top form. Tonight the Jordan 13 in the white and red colorway that is most commonly associated with home jersey Michael Jordan and the Bulls will be available at Eastbay.

You may feel like you’ve seen a lot of the Air Jordan XIII recently. That’s probably because you have. In recent months, we’ve seen the Bin23 and “Flint” colorways hit retailers. Tonight, the highly popular “Altitude” Retro 13 makes a return, and two previously un-retroed original colorways are due out shortly afterward.

The Air Jordan XIII was originally released in 1997. Designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, the shoe was based on a Black Panther theme because of a nickname Jordan received by close friends. The famous pods used for the sole of the Jordan XIII are reflective of the paw pads of an actual panther. The XIII was also a special shoe because it was the first Air Jordan released by the Jordan Brand as its own separate entity. In 1998, Jordan passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time scoring list and won his sixth (and last) NBA Championship.

With so many Jordan Retro 13s set to drop in the coming weeks, let’s take a look at photos of the classic sneaker taken by members of the Sole Collector forum. Included are photos of the original “Altitude” colorway that will release tonight as well as the White/Red pair that will be available on December 18th.

While the strength of the Air Jordan line was always the Chicago Bulls colorways, Nike would always come up with an “oddball” colorway that typically dropped sometime around NBA All-Star Weekend. Some of these unlikely releases include shoes like the “Obsidian” XII, “Columbia”  XI, “Aqua” VIII and “Bordeaux” VII. Also part of that group is the “Flint” Air Jordan XIII that first hit stores on February 14, 1998. Though MJ didn’t break them out for the All-Star game that season, the shoe became an instant hit, and is arguably the most popular Jordan XIII colorway. After first being re-released more than 5 years ago, the “Flint” XIII will make its heavily anticipated return next Friday, and you’ll be able to pick up a pair here at Eastbay.

The “Flint” XIII has undergone some slight modifications over the years, but still maintains most of the characteristics that made the shoe a smash back in 1998. To celebrate the shoe’s 2010 return, we’ve gathered some “Flint” XIII photography from members of the Sole Collector forum. Included in the group are the releases from 1998, 2005 and 2010. Even a few baby sizes make an appearance! Check out the photos below and show some love to these talented individuals.

Remember, the “Flint” Air Jordan Retro 13 will be available here on Friday, November 26th. In the meantime, you can prepare for the release with some Air Jordan Retro 13 apparel.

Jordan Retro 13 White/Black/Varsity Red

Air Jordan Retro 13 Altitude Green Quickstrike

Successful colorways of the storied Jordan sneaker line usually have a tie to Michael’s days on the court. One colorway that came well after the days of Michael Jordan making posters out his opponents was the Altitude Green colorway of the Air Jordan Retro 13. When this shoe originally released in 2005 it seemed to be that even utmost of traditionalists took a step back and tipped their cap to Jordan for this colorway.

On December 11th, the Jordan Retro 13 will release again in the popular Black and Altitude Green colorway in limited quantities. One change that is most noticeable is the change on the side panel which moves from leather on the original release to a more traditional Jordan 13 mesh material. Features like the textured leather under panel, heel hologram, and Altitude Green accents remain true to the 2005 release.

Look for these at Eastbay on December 11th.
