adidas Rose 773 – Collegiate Navy/Metallic Gold/Light Scarlet
words // Brandon Richard
Yesterday, the United States Men’s Basketball Team capped off an undefeated Olympic run by holding off Spain 107-100 for the Gold Medal. Though the roster was impressive top-to-bottom, there’s a chance they could have been even better. Prior to suffering an unfortunate injury in the Chicago Bulls’ first round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers, Derrick Rose was a lock to make the Olympic team, and adidas Basketball created the new Rose 773 shoe for him to wear during the Games. Now available here at Eastbay is this Olympic-inspired colorway of the 773 with Gold Medal accents.
Named after Chicago’s primary dialing code, the shoe is dressed in Collegiate Navy nubuck and features a tonal SprintWeb overlay on the toebox. Light Scarlet fills in the open-mesh tongue, while gold works the tongue badge, SprintFrame support chassis and trim along the sides. Below, a white midsole is joined by a red miCoach cell and variable height rubber traction outsole to complete the USA-themed look.
If you’re looking for a pair of summer hoop sneakers that look great and also have an interesting story behind them, we have these Derrick Rose basketball shoes available for you today.
