There is a lot of heritage involved when it comes to adidas basketball shoes. Tying the pieces together in a retro-inspired model isn’t the simplest thing to do but somehow, adidas Originals makes it look easy with the latest colorways of the adidas Hard Court.
A Medium Khaki and Light Twine colorway is paired up with a Black, Light Maroon and White version in the latest releases. The hi-top cut and over-exaggerated tongue give the Hard Court its current relevance, while the Trefoil logos and unmistakable Three Stripes not only give a nod to its heritage, but also make the claim that its design is purely adidas Originals.

The Hard Court Hi from adidas Originals is a throwback to the brand’s heritage basketball models of the 80s. Characteristics like clean lines, exaggerated trefoil branding on the tongue and 3-Stripes displayed on the side panels are recognizable to anybody who has paid attention to sneakers over the last 30 years. With updated presentation, the Hard Court Hi has garnered quite a following over the last couple of years, and this new colorway will surely get some attention as well.
This pair is dressed in lead grey suede with black mesh filling in the side panels and toebox. Sun yellow compliments the look on the inner liner, lace eyelets and detailing on the heel and ankle. Giving the shoe a modern look is a white vulcanized sole stationed below. Available to purchase at Eastbay today.

Last year’s colorways of the adidas Originals Hard Court may have come in a shiny patent finish, but for this spring adidas, has decided on a slightly more reserved approach. The adidas Originals Hard Court is a tribute to the basketball heritage of adidas shoes, with simple classic styling cues. A touch of flash comes in the form of the patent finish on the traditional The Stripes, which are, of course, included on the sides of these ’80s-esque sneakers. An exaggerated iconic Trefoil logo on the tongue also pays tribute to the company’s heritage, while the premium leather material choice keeps up with today’s standards of quality.
