Vadal Alexander
EASTBAY: It’s really important to have great communication on the interior part of the O-line. If you were to start right away, you’d be working with veterans who have been in the league for a while. How would you make sure you are on the same page with them?

ALEXANDER: By spending extra time with them one-on-one to try to get a relationship and be on the same page and pick their brain.

EASTBAY: Every test you take this week, from a mental perspective, is going to be evaluated by scouts and coaches. How do you make sure you’re handling the pressure the right way?

ALEXANDER: I prepared for this for months. Really, my whole life. I am well prepared. I am not worried about what’s going to happen because I’m ready and prepared for it.

EASTBAY: As you were getting ready for the combine, I’m sure you were training harder than you ever have. Where did you do your training?

ALEXANDER: The EXOS facility in Phoenix, Arizona.

EASTBAY: Great spot. Did it work out well for you?

ALEXANDER: Yeah! Great spot. My former teammates, like Odell Beckham, Kwon Alexander, Jarvis Landry, they all trained there.

EASTBAY: That’s a good list.

ALEXANDER: Yeah, I think I’m in the right place.

EASTBAY: While you were there, what kind of drills did you do to really work on your strength?

ALEXANDER: Just a lot of weights. Free weights, air weight — they actually have this cool technology that has air weight. And all the normal things you would do, but just putting in the extra hours with it.

EASTBAY: How about for getting faster and helping that 40 time?

ALEXANDER: Really getting that extra time in, working on the technique, speed work on and off the field. A lot of that has to do with your technique. Two to three work outs a day on improving that.

EASTBAY: Did you have a favorite team growing up?

ALEXANDER: I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, so Saints were always my favorite team growing up.

EASTBAY: How would that be? You’ll be happy anywhere, but how what it be to end up with the Saints?
ALEXANDER: Oh man! That would be an honor to represent them.
