Derrick Rose’s MVP Award is of course something to celebrate but even more so is the fact that Rose accomplished the feat at a younger age than any other player in NBA history. At just 22 years of age, Rose replaces Wes Unseld who was previously the youngest player to win the award, at just over 23 years of age.

Rose gave one of the most appreciative acceptance speech’s, honoring his mother for being his support through all the years. After Rose received the award prior to the Bulls hosting the Atlanta Hawks for game 2 of their playoff series. Rose then proceeded to lead the Bulls to victory with 25 points despite being noticeably affected by his ankle. However, playing through adversity was how Rose led the Bulls through the season, and earned his MVP award to begin with.
