On this Christmas Eve, we reflect on a huge year in the world of sneakers. LeBron James took his talents and signature sneaker line to Miami this summer, resulting in what may be the year’s best single release – the “South Beach” LeBron 8. Under Armour exploded onto the hoops footwear scene behind Milwaukee Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings and his Micro G Black Ice sneaker. The good folks over at adidas disbanded ‘the Brotherhood’ to give their two biggest stars, Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose, brand new signature sneakers. Reebok re-energized their efforts in basketball, signing top overall pick John Wall to a multi-year endorsement deal and making him the face of the Zig Slash. Chinese brands continued to make a push in U.S. markets, especially Li-Ning, who gained distribution through companies like Eastbay. For sneaker fanatics, 2010 has been wonderful, and has set the stage for an even better 2011. Celebrate Christmas with us by taking a look at this Christmas themed installment of Sole Shots.
