Earlier tonight, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant moved passed “The Big O” Oscar Robertson for ninth place on the NBA’s All-Time scoring list. Kobe made the leap when he scored his 26,711th point in the third quarter of LA’s 101-97 victory over the New Orleans Hornets. Both ironic and fittingly, Mr. Bryant is the subject of this week’s Sole Shots.
Last month, Bryant’s sixth Nike signature shoe the Zoom Kobe VI officially hit retail. Inspired by his “Black Mamba” alter ego, the form-fitting shoe features a scale-textured polyurethane upper. Carrying over from its predecessor is a low cut, Flywire support panels and Zoom cushioning.
To celebrate the new Kobe release, Sole Shots has gathered some great Nike Kobe photography from members of the Sole Collector forum. While the Zoom Kobe V is undoubtedly the preferred subject for most sneaker photographers, other Kobe favorites are sprinkled in as well. Let these talented individuals know what you think of their photos and share some of your thoughts about Kobe and his evolving sneaker line.
