Today marked the official return of a sneaker classic – the “Black Cement” Air Jordan 3. Originally released in 1988, the “Black Cement” 3 was one of MJ’s weapons of choice during his 1987-1988 MVP season, including the 1988 All-Star Game in Chicago where he was also named the MVP. The shoes went on to be re-released in 1994, 2001 and 2008, becoming one of the most beloved and sought after pairs from the Air Jordan line. Today’s release was met with the same enthusiasm, selling out in a matter of mere minutes.
To celebrate the release everybody is talking about, Sole Shots is showcasing the “Black Cement” Air Jordan 3 today. These photos, submitted by members of the Sole Collector Forums and sneaker enthusiasts from around the world, capture the classic Jordan shoes in their earlier forms with the ‘Nike Air’ on the heel and the later variations adorned by the famous Jumpman logo.
