The first colorways of the Air Jordan VII were released in late 1991. Inspired by Nike’s Huarache sneaker designs, the shoe was fairly simple in its construction, but made a bold statement with multicolor geometric patterns on the outsole and tongue, a fitting fashion statement for the times. Since then, the Jordan VII has been released in a wide variety of colorways, including the ‘Year of the Rabbit’ look that will be available on Eastbay tonight.
Like the Air Jordan 2011 of the same nickname released earlier this year, the YOTR Retro 7 isn’t only a salute to the current stage of the Chinese Zodiac, but a tribute to Michael Jordan being born in the Year of the Rabbit back in 1963. Styled after the famous original “Hare” colorway of the VII, the shoe features a white leather and light silver nubuck upper with celebratory red and metallic gold accenting.
With the Rabbits set to release tonight, let’s take a look at some Sole Shots featuring Air Jordan VII photography from members of the Sole Collector forum and beyond. Take a look at the photos and make sure you’re on Eastbay around midnight to pick up a pair of the newest Jordan VII colorway.

That first FTLOTG VII is GREAT. The detail and depth of the photo is real sweet. One thing driving me crazy though — gotta clone stamp out that white spec just above the ‘9’ on the heel. A couple touches away from outstanding.
Great entries from everyone else. I’ve always liked black shoes over white shoes, and yet my favorite VII is the Cardinal. These photos are giving me a new appreciation for the Bordeaux though.
