The U.S Women are at it again after their magical run in this past summer’s Women’s World Cup. Taking on Canada in the second exhibition of a two-match Celebration Series to thank stateside fans for their support during the Women’s World Cup┬áthis past summer, the U.S Women’s National Team ended by up on the winning-side of things with the help of some great goalkeeping by Hope Solo and veteran leadership by Abby Wambach.

Led by Wambach’s two goals, the U.S Women pulled off the easy victory over our neighbors from the north, 3-0. Wambach could have easily ended up with a hat trick in the friendly, failing on several scoring opportunities early in the match. Wambach put her first goal in on a beautiful left-footed strike, giving the U.S the 1-0 lead in the 63rd minute. Not wasting anytime, Wambach went back to work in the 70th minute putting in one of her signature diving headers with the help of Kelly O’Hara.

Young star Alex Morgan put the match out of reach, finding the back of the net in the 92nd minute. The U.S Women ended up on top 3-0, in their final match of the season before preparing for next summer’s Olympic Games’ qualifying matches.
