The Los Angeles Galaxy celebrate their 2011 MLS Cup Championship.

words // Luis Sanchez

Last month saw the end of the Major League Soccer season with the Los Angeles Galaxy being crowned MLS Cup Champions. Cruising through their season and all through the playoffs, the Galaxy were able to handle the Houston Dynamo 1-0 to take the MLS Cup.

Over 30,000 fans were on hand in Southern California to watch the tightly played match, which ran scoreless well into the second half. The Galaxy were able to take the lead over the Houston Dynamo and never look back in the 72nd minute, when Landon Donovan hooked up with David Beckham and Robbie Keane to put-in the game-changing goal.

The 2011 MLS Cup Championship was the Galaxy’s first since winning back to back cups in 2006 and 2007, while the Houston Dynamo suffered their first-ever MLS Cup loss in franchise history.
