Germany celebrates a qualifying round victory.

Qualifiers for what many consider a tournament far better than the world-recognized World Cup are now underway. Looking to qualify for next year’s Euro 2012, we saw Spain, Germany, and England all get off to a strong start. The talented Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal already hit the field as well, ending up with an impressive 4-0 victory over Cyprus to hold a tie with Denmark for the current lead in Group H.

Led by Wayne Rooney, England was also able to earn the lead in their respective group, after a comfortable 3-0 victory over Bulgaria. England is now that much closer to automatic qualification, something many already expected from the powerful Umbro-outfitted squad.
