With the dark cloud of a lockout looming over the NBA all summer, there couldn’t have been a better way to welcome back everyone’s favorite sport than on Christmas day. Christmas Day set the stage for some of this season’s biggest stories, with five games on schedule to kick off the latest NBA campaign.
The Los Angeles Lakers‘ hit the court under the direction of Mike Brown for the first time, CP3 officially suited up for the Los Angeles Clippers and the Miami Heat finally had their chance to revenge last year’s NBA Finals loss to the Dallas Mavericks. The Boston Celtics also battled the New York Knicks at the new-look Madison Square Garden, while Dwight Howard kicked off possibly his last season with the Orlando Magic vs KD and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
From LeBron’s Christmas Day Nike LeBron 9 to Derrick Rose’s “Windy City” adidas adiZero Rose 2, Christmas Day also marked the official debut of several signature kicks. Enjoy a look at all of yesterday’s kicks below, as part of this season’s first Eastbay Sneaker Watch.

CP3 needs to drop about 20 pounds. Seriously.
#BASKETBALL&SHOES ARE MY #SOLELYFE
@TD-You is probably fatter than he is, even if he adds 75 pounds. And second of all, most of that is muscle.
@-@DA_CLEAR_SOLE- This ain’t Twitter. Bot hatin’ though.
pau’s hyperdunk > kobes sig
why didn’t adidas create a more christmas-sy theme except for the l-trains (which look hawt btw)
@JPthunderup, he does that everywhere, and after repeated comments, he’s still doing that…do what everyone has done: ignore.
@Nato, yup, those are his Adipure PEs. SC featured them awhile back. Beauties!
@Urriah, I feel you man…Dwight was in Blackouts, WTH! It’s Christmas, and it’s the first game of a truncated season, and you’re wearing Blackouts, COME ON!! Might be to reflect his mood on playing for the Magic though…Must say that the way he’s handled the “Trade me, but I wanna be here, but trade me” saga is a bit suspect
Dirk’s in Hyperdunk 2010’s?! WTH…Nike’s 2012 range can’t be that bad, can it?
KD was the ugliest
Looking @ all the Christmas kicks is true honest to goodness “i” candy
Love the windy city edition of the Adizero rose 2!
