Joe Johnson had a big game in the Jordan Pure J.
Friday around the League, tensions seem to be at a tipping point as some of the League’s top teams faced off. Despite all of the unwelcome grabbing, and a flurry of punches being thrown, a few players were able to keep their game a step ahead of the rest.
Atlanta’s Joe Johnson put up 34 points, eight rebounds and seven assists as the Hawks held down their home court against the visiting New York Knicks. The win gives the Hawks their 30th victory of the season and ties them with the Orlando Magic, who lost to Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls’ win keeps them tied with the Miami Heat for second best in the Eastern Conference behind only the Boston Celtics.
In the Western Conference, a triple double by Russell Westbrook and 40 points from Kevin Durant led the Thunder passed the Wizards. After two overtime sessions, the Thunder wound up with their 30th victory of the year. Despite 38 points from Kobe Bryant, the Sacramento Kings defeated the defending champs in Los Angeles behind 27 points and 10 rebounds from rookie DeMarcus Cousins.
