LeBron James, emotional or dramatic?
words // Nick Engvall
When LeBron James made “The Decision” to play for the Miami Heat in the offseason, he was not only questioned as to how he handled it, but he was also shunned by Hall of Famers Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. We all know there is no way to make everyone happy at all times, and the choice to play in South Beach meant creating enemies with former fans in Cleveland, as well as more critics than anyone could possibly imagine.
Despite the rocky start to their season and expectations that only the USA Basketball’s Dream Team of 1992 (yes, the same team MJ and Magic played together on) could have met, LeBron James, and the Miami Heat have pushed forward. Last night’s victory over the Boston Celtics has them one series away from the NBA Finals and looking as if they’ve found a way to balance the attack of their superstar roster in a winning way. Thanks to “The Decision” we know LeBron has an affection for dramatics but as the Heat won last night, James was overcome with emotion. Rightfully so, as the Celtics by far had been his toughest opponent while playing for Cleveland. LeBron hugged former teammate Delonte West after the game, which is a relationship filled with a whirlwind of rumors, and even apologized to the fans back home in the post-game press conference.
They say you need a certain level of maturity to win an NBA Championship. Could it be that King James is finally ready to take his crown?
