Although we’ll probably never see this colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI appear on Kobe’s feet in our Sneaker Watch coverage, you can bet that the combination of Black, Varsity Red and White will be one that finds its way onto basketball courts around the world pretty easily. The Chicago-esque colorway will undoubtedly be an option for those that don’t want a Lakers colorway but still want to sport the lightweight Kobe VI on court.
For this colorway of the Zoom Kobe VI the upper is predominantly black and covered in the snakeskin-like finish that seems to define the Kobe VI. Varsity Red takes its place on the midsole, TPU heel counter and on the Kobe logo on the tongue. A white spray painted Swoosh adorns the side panel and balances out with the white midsole.
As has become the standard for recent Kobe Bryant shoes, the Zoom Kobe VI is outfitted with Zoom Air cushioning and Flywire technology. The Zoom Air units are placed in the heel and forefoot aimed at optimum responsiveness for those quick cuts. Flywire helps to keep the weight down as well as provide a dynamic fit. A new traction pattern, also of “Black Mamba” inspiration, aims to provide the needed grip for directional changes.
Available to ship February 5th at Eastbay.
