In most cases when we see hybrid sneaker styles, companies mesh the details of old school silhouettes into newer technologies hoping something will catch on with consumers. This time around, Nike has taken two of its popular current models, the Nike Free TR and the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse, and blended them together to create the new Nike Vapor TR Max.
One of the first colorways of the Nike Vapor TR Max is this combination of the popular Photo Blue mixed with Dark Grey, White and Black. Throughout the upper, you can see the lightweight mesh finish that can be credited to the Zoom Hyperfuse, while subtle design cues at the heel and toe area are mixed in from the Free TR. If the midsole seems familiar that’s because it, along with the Diamond Flex design of the outsole, have become somewhat of a standard amongst the current Nike Training releases. The full-length phylon midsole cushioning is given some extra clout with the addition of Air Max unit in the heel.
