In 2011, LeBron James visited the Terracotta Warrior Exhibition during a trip to Xi’an, China. He found himself impressed with the exhibit, which reflected his own playing style. The warriors spirt of grit, confidence, hard work and determination inspired this new colorway of the Nike LeBron 11.
The shoe’s design pulls cues from the Terracotta Warriors as we see them today. Neutral stone colors along with color pops of purple, teal and red represent how they were originally painted. The graphic texture on the upper articulates the linked, plated armor worn by the warriors. A special lining shank design graphic is drawn from the style of Bronze Age art, the era in which the Terracotta Warriors were born.
