Nike introduces Kevin Durant’s latest signature shoe, the Nike KD 7. The shoe fuses performance innovation with a creative narrative across give colorways that are centered on the weather.
With insight from Durant, Nike designer Leo Chang created a shoe that suited the MVP’s needs for quickness, power and unpredictability. Durant-inspired elements were worked into the color blocking, graphics and textures to tell stories.
The objective of the KD 7 was to make a shoe that provided Durant with quickness and forefoot flexibility typically reserved for point guards, combined with the stability and support in a shoe designed for a power forward. Chang accomplished this by using seamless forefoot mesh, dynamic Flywire technology and encapsulated Zoom in the front of the shoe. Hyperposite support in the heel and a newly developed visible Zoom Air bag provides responsive cushioning.
Hyperposite technology also makes its debut in KD’s line as a nod to his Maryland roots.
The KD 7 debuts in a USA-themed white, red and obsidian colorway to salute the country Durant loves for Independence Day. His love affair with fireworks (or man-made lightning) inspire the look.
You can grab a pair of Durant’s new Nike basketball shoes for $150 at Eastbay today.
