The waffle sole is about as important to Nike Running as Michael Jordan is to the Jordan Brand. It is the very roots of the heritage that has grown into the various new technologies and new running shoe designs that Nike has to offer. In modern days the popularity of the minimalistic running shoes has steered the design for many of Nike Running’s creations towards Free technology.
With that in mind, and reaching back to their vast heritage of running shoes that has kept them at the top of the competition over the years, Nike is tying together their heritage with current technology in this summer’s Free Waffle AC. Featuring a Free outsole, BRS 1000 Rubber at critical contact points, and a Phylite midsole, it mimics barefoot running while having a the look that feels classic. Exaggerated stitching, reflective detailing and mesh paneling, all add up to a new yet familiar style that is perfect for your summer runs.
O com’ on not this one
I like the grey ones…
sorry Mr. Nike…these are becoming way too over designed. The first ones were a very simple, elegant shoe with gobs of comfort, so I can’t see why all the stitching and overly bulky layers are needed. Do like was done with Kobe and do the whole upper out of a one piece sleeve with some flywire for support…way better to look at and most likely quite a bit lighter.
