Before the launch of his iconic signature line, Penny Hardaway famously laced up the Nike Air Up during the 1994-1995 NBA season. Several colorways of the mid-cut hoop shoe would make their way to retail, none more instantly recognizable than Penny’s Orlando-themed pair.
Now dubbed the Air Up ’14, the classic returns for the first time with most of its original features and some updated elements for a modernized look. The upper sports alternating black and white panels, graffiti-like branding on the tongue and royal patent Swoosh logos on the side panels. Visible Air and a similarly blocked sole finish things off below.
These Nike basketball shoes make their long-awaited return for $140 this Saturday, January 18 at 8:00 a.m. EST / 7:00 a.m. CST. Follow @Eastbay on Twitter and @OfficialEastbay on Instagram for all release information and updates.
