The Air Max Uptempo 2 is a throwback to Nike Basketball’s “can’t-miss” era in the mid 90s. Debuted during the 1994-1995 basketball season, the shoe was famously spotted on the feet of many members of the Duke Blue Devils basketball team, and ironically, on the feet of Chris Webber in the pros. Probably the colorway people remember the most is this “Duke” make-up, which is slated to hit stores sometime in December.
The shoe features a white leather and black nubuck upper with blue mesh filling in the toebox, along the side panels, up through the ankle and the tongue. Black and white team up on the midsole, while royal blue borders a taxi yellow Max Air unit. Black, white and yellow rubber finish off the look below. Stop by Eastbay to pick up this returning classic today.
