If you’re into sneakers in any way, you know that when it comes to combining style cues from multiple silhouettes, it can be very hit or miss. Even something simple like changing the material or cushioning from dated materials and technology into something that can live up to today’s standards can turn some people away.
In recent years Nike, like always, has taken classic styles and morphed them into new designs packed with new technology. The 1/2 Cent, Air Maxim 1 and a number of other Torch-infused runners are some of their recent successes with this approach. Their latest creation is the newest Ken Griffey Jr.-inspired model, the Nike Air Max Jr, which takes the popular design cues from the Nike Air Griffey Max and combines it with a breathable Torch upper and the comfort of a 360 Air Max sole. The first of the Air Max Jr colorways combines the colors of the second team in Griffey’s storied career, the Black and Varsity Red of the Cincinnati Reds.
Will this latest addition to the Griffey line make it into your collection?
Available now: Nike Air Max Jr
I’m feeling these but hopefully in a blue colorway.
It’s funny, I actually like these from a basketball standpoint. Would even try them on the court!
saw these at the mall…these pics don’t do the shoes justice! they’re way better in person because the red is quite a bit darker. just wish they weren’t so dang expensive.
i am glad they came out with the air max in a high top. can;t wait to get them
these just don’t look right with that 360 air unit!
This colorway does this so absolutely no justice!!!!! This is a great shoe but very poor color blocking execution
