After 17 weeks of hard-hitting (well, at least as hard as they’ll let you hit without coughing up 25 grand) action, we’ve finally narrowed down the NFL field to 12 teams. Perched at the top of the AFC are the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers, each watching this weekend’s action from home with a bye. On schedule for the AFC this weekend is the New York Jets traveling to Indianapolis to take on the Colts and the surprising Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Baltimore Ravens. Over in the NFC, the Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears will watch from afar, while the Green Bay Packers take on the Philadelphia Eagles and the New Orleans Saints head to Seattle to play the Seahawks.
This past Sunday, the Green Bay Packers clinched a playoff spot by winning a tough game against the Chicago Bears. With the win, the Packers eliminated the New York Giants, who finished their season with a win over the Washington Redskins. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers completed their turnaround season with a big victory over the New Orleans saints, but needed Green Bay and New York to advance to the postseason. Indianapolis’ win over the Titans coupled with the Jaguars getting blasted by Houston means Peyton Manning and company are heading back to the playoffs for the ninth straight time. In the night cap, it was the host Seattle Seahawks coming out victorious in a NFC West Championship game against the St. Louis Rams.
