North Carolina’s Tyler Zeller stands 7-feet tall, weighs in somewhere around 250 pounds, and this year his game has grown to match his physical presence on the court. After injuries kept him out of a number of games during his freshman and sophomore seasons, in his junior year, Zeller has been instrumental in getting North Carolina their 28th ACC Conference Title. Zeller finished with 15.2 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game during the regular season.
In the first two games of the NCAA Tournament for North Carolina, Tyler Zeller led the way. In the first game against Long Island, Zeller was unstoppable. He scored 32 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots to lead UNC to a 102-87 victory. In UNC’s second game against Washington, Zeller again led the team in scoring, this time scoring 23 and hitting all seven of his free throw shots.
Zeller and the Tarheels will take on one of this year’s Cinderellas, the Marquette Golden Eagles to see who moves on to the Elite 8.
