Coach K embraces his career-long mentor, Bob Knight.
words // Luis Sanchez
After coaching for over 36 years at the college level, things have finally come full circle for the legendary Coach K. Mike Kryzewski, men’s basketball head coach at Duke since 1980, captured the Division I men’s wins record with his 903rd career victory last night in Madison Square garden. With his career-long mentor Bob Knight in attendance, Coach K became Division I’s most winningest coach after his Duke Blue Devils took down Michigan State 74-69.
The record-setting victory was the 903rd of Kryzewski’s eventful career, one that is certainly far from over. By far one of the greatest college basketball head coaches of all time, many expect the Blue Devils’ legendary leader to put the Division I men’s win record out of reach.
Enjoy a look at Coach K’s record-setting victory below, as part of Eastbay’s latest NCAA Watch.

Congrats Coach K, you deserved this.
They aren’t signed by a certain brand so therefore there’s much more variety in their shoe game.
It amuses me how many Duke guys always wear Jordans
Those cool greys would look much better if Rivers were on UNC……
I love seeing these cats play in the retro joints. It kinda quells the notion that they are not meant to be played in. If these cats can ball in them, everyone can.
It amuses you how many Duke guys always wear Jordans? What’s there to be amused about? Everybody and their moms even on the streets wear Jordans!
