This week’s Eastbay Player of the Week honors go to Los Angeles Clippers rising star Blake Griffin. Although Blake is currently working on a seven-game double-double streak (yeah, Kevin Love is at 34, but that’s not even a T-Wolves record), Griffin is also inching closer to another elusive statistic in this his official rookie season. In the last week, Blake Griffin stepped up in the passing department, dishing out seven assists against the Bulls Wednesday and six against the Bucks on Monday, moving his season averages to 23.0 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists.
Can Blake raise those assist numbers and join last year’s Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans, LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson as the only rookies to finish with the elusive 20-5-5 stats?
