Ubaldo Jimenez became the first pitcher in Major League Baseball this season to achieve 17 victories. The Rockies star threw a four hitter against the San Francisco Giants to become the fourth pitcher from the Colorado Rockies to do so. Jimenez will look to set himself on top of the Rockies record books by becoming the franchise’s first 18 game winner, which should be an easy feat the way Jimenez has been dominating teams around the league this year.
In the American League, A-Rod blasted his 600th home run, which slightly overshadowed the managerial return of Buck Showalter. Showalter did, however, lead the struggling Baltimore Orioles to a win in his debut.
