The New York Yankees are not the only professional sports team that has expectations of winning and anything less than a title being a disappointment. However, they’re one of the few teams with that approach that fans and critics alike have the very same expectations.
In the past week the Bronx Bombers have bombed in a bad way, losing 6 games in a row including a sweep from their rivals the Red Sox. With nearly everyone in the lineup struggling, Joe Girardi made some changes that weren’t to well received and the waves have continued to cause commotion amongst the leaders of the organization, as well as the star players, Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, and others.
While the Yankees slide, the Red Sox, who might have higher expectations to meet than any other team in the Major League Baseball this season thanks to an All-Star roster, have pulled nearly even with the Yankees at 21-20. While the Tampa Bay Rays quietly have moved into a 4 game lead of the American League East division.
