After surprising many and going up two games to none, the Texas Rangers were unable to hold-off the hurting, yet determined Detroit Tigers in last night’s ALCS Game 3. Led by their potent offensive and some great veteran play, the D-Town’s Tigers were able to earn the 5-2 victory in the all-important game three of the American League Championship series.
The Tigers were able to couple great pitching with a couple of clutch hits, including a home run from veteran Victor Martinez who was barely even able to complete his homerun trot around the bases after suffering an injury to his ribcage in the same at-bat. Miguel Cabrera was also incredibly Clutch for the Detroit Tigers, banging out an RBI double in the 5th inning and a huge homerun in the bottom of the 7th.
The Tigers and Rangers will face-off for game 4 today in Detroit, with Matt Harrison taking the mound for the Rangers and Rick Porcello starting for the Tigers.
