The Mets again paid a patriotic tribute of their own to September 11th victims, unveiling this years Stars and Stripes fitted hats later in the week against the Giants.
The Dodgers and Cubs turned back the clock in Chicago and took the diamond in old school uniforms. The jerseys worn were replicas of those worn in 1944.
The Washington Nationals broke out their patriotic stars and stripes logo jerseys against the San Francisco Giants.
In Oakland, the Athletics have worn 1970’s inspired yellow jerseys a couple of times this season. To go with the brightly colored jerseys trimmed in green and white details, outfielder Coco Crisp took the look a step further. Crisp, who normally wears his hair in braids, decided to let loose for this week’s retro jersey and sport a very 70’s-ish hairdo.
