Jon Lester continues his support of LIVESTRONG with new Nike baseball cleats.
words // Nick Engvall
In the midst of his rookie season 5 years ago, Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester was diagnosed with lymphoma. After going through treatment and returning to the baseball diamond nearly two years later, Lester started and was the winning pitcher in the Red Sox 2007 World Series title. Since his battle with cancer, Lester has been an advocate in bringing awareness to, and supporting finding a cure for the disease. He’s partnered with Lance Armstrong’s LIVESTRONG foundation on a number of occasions, even wearing a black and yellow LIVESTRONG glove for the past few seasons.
Last night, although Lester left early with an injury, he took the mound for the Red Sox wearing a pair of black and yellow Nike Air Max Diamond Elite Fly cleats. No doubt, a continued way of supporting the LIVESTRONG foundation and their efforts to find a cure for the cancer that Lester and his family are all to familiar with.
